About
Winnam Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders is an enterprising community organisation that is a holistic service provider for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders community in the Wynnum and Bayside Suburbs of Brisbane. These are within the boundaries of the Quandamoooka country areas. Winnam also manages an aged care facility that is for, but not limited to, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island People – The Georgina Margaret Davidson Thompson Hostel in Morningside, Brisbane.

Our organisation’s Motto is ” Keeping our People Together”, reflecting the aim to maintain a support network and meeting base for local Murri and Torres Strait Islander peoples and activities.
The corporation was originally founded by local Aboriginal women and men, who volunteered their time and had a vision to provide housing and general support to the bayside
The organisation’s Logo was designed by a local artist. The brown/red represents the land and the green represents the sea. The jagged line represents the meeting of the land and sea, and the carpet snake is the totum for this area.
